About

I am an experienced Director of Communication and Public Relations with nearly ten years of expertise in crisis communication, media relations, marketing, and event development in higher education and the non-profit sector. As an award-winning journalist, my stories have been featured on national networks, and I have a proven track record of crafting compelling narratives that resonate with diverse audiences.
Throughout my career, I’ve developed a unique skill set that merges the fast-paced demands of news reporting with strategic communication in various industries. I specialize in storytelling, website development, social media strategy, and fundraising, and I bring a proactive, collaborative approach to every project. My experience in live news environments honed my ability to thrive under pressure, problem-solve in real time, and remain flexible in the face of new challenges.
I’m passionate about creating impactful communication strategies that foster engagement and growth, whether through media campaigns, special events, or community outreach. I take pride in encouraging open collaboration, troubleshooting obstacles alongside my team, and driving projects toward success.
I feel that what I was put on this earth to do is make an impact and serve others.
My passion for breast cancer awareness stems from personal experience, as both my mother and grandmother are survivors, and I have faced my own breast cancer scare. Over the years, I have dedicated myself to raising awareness, providing education, and supporting research efforts in the fight against this disease. Through my volunteer work, I have organized fundraising events, participated in community outreach programs, and supported local and national breast cancer organizations. I was also honored to receive the MaryEllen Locher Foundation Scholarship in recognition of my contributions to breast cancer awareness and advocacy and I currently serve on the Breast Cancer Research Foundation of Alabama's Junior Board. This cause is close to my heart, and I remain committed to helping those affected by breast cancer and advancing the search for a cure.
